Sabbath
School and Bible Classes
Lord’s
Day 10:30am and 10:45am
Our
Church encourages parents who attend the church and also
parents from the surrounding area to send their children
to our Sabbath School from the ages of 4 years old and up.
We have 20 teachers and 150 children enrolled in the Sabbath
School. The aim of our Sabbath School is to embed the children
with the knowledge of the Word of God. The Children are
taught about Creation, Adam and Eve, The Fall, Abraham,
the Miracles of Christ – these are only some of the areas
covered on the curriculum. It is our prayer and our desire
that each child will respond to the Word of God and ask
the Lord Jesus Christ into their heart. Each Lords Day the
children will be given a verse and a Catechism to learn
for the following week. Each year in September the children
will be examined on what they have learned.
At
the age of 15 they will then move into the Junior Bible
Class. Here they will be taught on more specific topics
in the Word of God such as ‘Justification’, ‘Sanctification’,
‘Adoption’, ‘Baptism,’ ‘The Lord’s Supper’.
The
Senior Bible Class caters for those in the churches that
are over the age of 25 years. Here Bible studies are carried
out over a period of weeks on topics just as ‘The Trinity’,
Ark of the Covenant’, ‘Tabernacle’.
Family
Worship
Each
Lord’s Day at 12 noon we have our family worship service.
We encourage the church members to bring their families
along to this service and to invite others to the service.
We Worship the Lord through Singing, Prayer and the reading
of God’s Word before the Minister brings the message that
God has laid on his heart.
Old
Tyme Gospel Evening Service.
Before
this meeting takes place there is an hour of prayer (6:30pm
– 7:30pm). Here God’s people pray for the Blessing of God
to fall on the service that sinners might be saved, backsliders
restored and that the Saints of God might be Blessed.
The
service starts at 7:30pm. We Worship God through Singing,
Prayer and the reading of God’s Word before the Minister
brings the message that God has laid on his heart. We also
have testimonies where people share what God has done for
them in their lives.
Children’s
Meeting
Each
Wednesday evening at 7:15pm we have two children’s meeting
One in Maghera and the other in the Church hall. The children
are brought in on buses and in cars. In the meetings the
children participate in chorus singing, memory verse, quizzes
and finally they are taught a story from the Bible.
Prayer
Meeting
Each
Thursday evening at 8:00pm God’s people meet for Bible study
and Prayer. We consider the Prayer meeting to be the powerhouse
of the church. It is often quoted in the prayer meeting
‘Much Prayer - much Blessing, little Prayer – little Blessing,
no Prayer – no Blessing’. Before the season of prayer begins
the Minister brings a short Bible study. After this the
people are encouraged to pray publicly and also privately.
Youth
Meeting
Each
Saturday evening (September – May) at 8:00pm the youth of
the church meet in the church hall. This is preceded by
a half-hour of prayer. The age for beginning the youth is
11 years old and upward. Within the meeting there is chorus
and hymn singing, testimonies, quizzes, discussions on various
topics that are relevant to youth and most important a message
from God’s Word is brought to the young people each week.
The young people are encouraged to participate in the meeting
i.e. doing the quiz, leading the choruses. It is the youth
of our church who will be the next leaders in the church
therefore we try and get the young people as active as possible
within the church.
Outreach
Works
Each
Tuesday evening at 7:15pm an outreach team goes into the
surrounding towns and villages to do door-to-door outreach.
In the summer time they get the opportunity to do door-to-door
outreach in the surrounding countryside. This is a very
effective way of getting the Gospel across to the people
within the area. People have given their life to God as
a result of this outreach work. If the people are not going
to come to the church to hear the Gospel then we must go
after them and tell them of their need of a Saviour.
Each
Lord’s Day afternoon at 3:30pm an open-air meeting is held
at a different location each week. These are usually held
in the different housing estates in Magherafelt and also
the surrounding towns and villages.
The
Youth also have their outreach program. On the last Saturday
of every month they go down into the streets of Magherafelt
where they distribute Gospel tracts to the people who are
going to clubs and pubs. This work has seen good results.
One of the team use to go to the pubs but the Lord gloriously
saved him and now he is helping to win others for Christ.
Please
remember to pray for the outreach programs that are carried
out within the church.
